A 55-year-old white man presented to the hospital for evaluation of abdominal pain and a rash on his bilateral lower extremities. When the patient’s symptoms began 5 days previously,he was evaluated in an acute care clinic. He was told he had elevated liver enzymes and was likely having a drug reaction to baclofen, which he had been prescribed for the past 2 months for chronic low back pain. Despite the discontinuation of baclofen and the application of hydrocortisone cream to the rash, his symptoms persisted.
